What is Teeth Whitening?
Whitening is an effective way of lifting stains and deep enamel discoloration that is causing your smile to look dull. We offer in-office whitening as well as whitening that you can do in the comfort of your own home. Whitening results can last for a long time, and we can help with future touch-ups when needed.
Why would Teeth Whitening be needed?
You might want your teeth whitened before a big event, like a reunion or a wedding, or simply for a confidence booster. Some reasons your smile might be stained include smoking or chewing tobacco, drinking coffee, tea or cola, drinking wine or fruit juice, taking certain medications, or simply getting older.
Who is a candidate for Teeth Whitening?
Even professional whitening will only affect the color of natural teeth, so it will have little to no impact on restorations you currently have. If you would like to whiten restorations like crowns and bridges, you will need to have them replaced entirely. We will examine your teeth to determine if they’re healthy enough for professional whitening.
What happens during the Teeth Whitening process?
For in-office whitening, your lips are kept separate from your teeth while a whitening gel is applied to each tooth’s surface. A bright light is positioned over your smile to accelerate the results. The gel is removed and reapplied halfway through. In just 60 minutes, your smile will be multiple shades whiter. For take-home whitening, we make custom trays from impressions and provide a whitening gel to wear at home.
